2017 Builder of the Year
Bert Singletary - Bert Singletary Construction - Awarded 2017 James Russell Builder of the Year
Congratulations 2017 Builder of the Year
Bert Singletary Construction:
A third generation builder, Bert Singletary started in the home building industry back in the early ’90’s as a framer for many local builders. In the mid ’90’s Bert started working with homeowners directly on home additions and extensive remodeling. In 2005, Singletary Construction was born and has grown to build nearly 700 homes in subdivisions such as Benton Park, Fox Crossing, Farmington, West Creek Farms, Sunset Meadows, Fields of Northmeade, Summerfield.
2017 - Year to date Bert and his team have built 120 homes.
Not only did Bert and Linda become local Builders in our area, they have preformed many selfless acts of kindness. Annually helping our local school system during SKILLS Competitions, filling other needs anytime they saw one.
Bert and Linda have also changed the lives of many...
In 2005 he had an opportunity to frame the home for Sgt. Rodriguez, a soldier whose convoy was tragically struck with a roadside bomb in Iraq. Rodriguez lost his right leg and two fingertips in the blast. After ungoing 16 Surgeries, Sgt. Rodriguez was able to walk again with the help of a prosthetic and crutches. But their small home was too narrow and awkward to accommodate his crutches and new needs. It was their honor and a privilege to give this brave soldier and his loving family an accommodating home they can all be proud of.
In 2009, Bert, Linda and their team were able to help again when Trina Scott and her three daughters needed it most. Trina’s husband Dave was a former soldier and a Clarksville Police officer. Tragedy struck in 2002 when Dave was killed in the line of duty. Raising three daughters on her own and volunteering her free time to C.O.P.S. has left Trina with little time to care for her deteriorating house, which has been ravaged by termites. With the foundation eaten away, the house is on its last legs. After our team and the rest of the community got involved Trina now has a new home that will be safe for her and her daughters for many years to come.
Homes for Troops
In 2010 Bert Singletary const framed the house of SSG Heath Calhoun of the 101st Airborne Division. Calhoun lost both of his legs in Iraq when a rocket-propelled grenade hit his Humvee on November 7, 2003. It was a heart-warming feeling and a joy for us to be able to help accommodate this deserving soldier by framing the open and accessible new home for him and his family.
Since then Singletary Construction has grown to become the most professional custom home builder in the Middle Tennessee area. Winner many awards such as March of Dimes Best of Clarksville, 2016 The Leaf Chronicle Readers Choice Award.
Bert has been a member of the HBA since 2005 and currently serving on the HBA board. Award was presented by 2016 Award winner Bryce Powers. Join me and we salute Bert and Linda Singletary as 2017 Builder of the Year.
